NAIL TECHNICIAN = 600 hours
Description: The Nail
Technology course covers instruction in theory and practical
application to prepare the student in all areas of Nail Technology.
This includes artificial nails, pedicures, manicures, paraffin
therapy, and specific treatment for hands and feet, and natural
nail care.
Goals: Upon completion of the
600 hour course the graduate student will possess sufficient
knowledge confidence and skills to pass the Washington
State Board and secure and maintain employment in the industry.
Format: The course shall
consist of lectures, demonstrations, student participation
and practice in all phases of Nail Technology.

Understanding the nail composition, structure, diseases and disorders that
affect the nail in order to perform the necessary procedures safely.

Removal of Artificial Nail Coatings correctly and safely:
Procedures for removal of Acrylic, gel, silk and fiberglass, and treatments
to promote the health of the natural nail after removal.
Bacteriology, sanitation/disinfection procedures.
Safety in the salon to protect the Nail Tech and the general public.
Learn importance of correct sanitation/disinfection procedures and application
to protect you and your client from bacteria, fungus and viruses

100-94 = A or 4
93-88 = B or 3
86-80 = C or 2
79-76 = D or 1
75 and below F or 0
Practical
1= No exposure-no experience or knowledge
2= Limited competency-requires instruction and close supervision to perform
safely
3= Moderately competent-can completely perform job safely with limited supervision
4= Job ready-can completely perform job safely and independently
Cost for the Nail Technician course is $2,650 including tuition, registration fees, kit, books and lab fee.
